Over 200 people aged over 50 are now more clued-up about managing their own health, thanks to a Carmarthenshire Communities First event.
The free ‘Add to Your Life’ health and wellbeing event was held recently at Parc Y Scarlets, geared towards equipping older people with the knowledge they need to lead healthy and active lifestyles, from health checks to relaxation techniques, fitness sessions to self defence.
They were also introduced to a range of organisations that provide health and wellbeing services in their local communities.
Feedback on the day was excellent, and the Communities First team will now use their comments to help develop more services for the over 50s in the county.
Communities First Integrated Health Worker Lynsey Jones said: “We were very encouraged by the turnout and the enthusiasm people had on the day. We enjoyed a day packed full of demonstrations from healthy eating through to Zumba and Yoga.”
The event was organised by Communities First as part of its aim to making a positive contribution towards improving health and wellbeing for people aged over 50.
