Residents and traders are being reminded that there are changes to refuse and recycling collections over the May Day Bank Holiday.
From Monday, May 5 until Friday, May 9, collections will take place one day later than usual.
For example, if your collection is due on the Monday, it won’t be picked up until the Tuesday and so on. Friday collections will be made on the Saturday.
The changes also affect the council’s trade waste customers.
The recycling centres in Trostre (Llanelli), Wernddu (Ammanford), Nantycaws (Carmarthen) and Whitland are open as usual. Llangadog is closed on Bank Holiday Monday.
Residents can sign up to the council’s text messaging or email alert service for latest news and information including refuse/recycling collections.
Executive Board Member for Technical Services Cllr Colin Evans said: “It is important we continue to recycle as much as we can but also to reduce the amount of rubbish we produce in the first place.
“Not only do we have recycling targets to meet but we have to reduce the amount of rubbish going to landfill.”
