Trudi Goldsmith from Llanelli Music Scene caught up with A Sudden Disturbance’s Keith Evans to find out what the band have been up to…….
1. We haven’t heard from ASD for a while can you tell me what you’ve been up to since you last played the Llanelli Music Scene Band of the Month on 29th June 2013?
The Llanelli Music Scene gig seems like such a long time ago. We recorded the first single (New Beginning) for our new album called Chapel Of Death. The single was released on Halloween along with a music video. Both the single and video were produced by Mighty Media Productions. Since Halloween we all took time off for other commitments until we met back up in March and recorded the rest of the album.
2. When will your new album be released?
The release date hasn’t been yet announced so this is an exclusive! The release will happen on Friday 1st August 2014.
3.Where can people listen to it or get a copy of the album?
For the album itself, you will only be able to purchase an actual CD at our live gigs, or on our website at www.asuddendisturbance.co.uk
The single New Beginning can be heard on the music scene online CD that is out on 9th May and can also be downloaded for FREE at http://asuddendisturbance.bandcamp.com/album/new-beginning.
Our second single Cold Decembers Night, which is a counterpart to a song on our previous album called Decembers Call, will be released on 01/07/14 from http://asuddendisturbance.bandcamp.com/album/cold-decembers-night-single.
4.What can listeners expect from the new ASD album?
This album is a lot darker and twisted than the previous album but also catchy choruses what will be sure to get stuck in your head.
There are 15 tracks in total and we have gone for a welcome to my nightmare (Alice Cooper) feel within the story throughout the songs.
5. Do you have any funny stories from your time recording the album together?
Yeah more odd than funny, we had a moment one day where everything was going wrong. The audio cables stopped working, the headphones had a lot of interference and static sounds quite often so we would switch the cables around and it was fine, then it would happen again so we change back to the original ones and they worked again. Mike (Vocals) went for a take on one of the songs and as I (Keith) listened while mixing, I flung the headphones off my head as I felt like I had been poked in the side, and mike came out of the vocal booth saying about it being breezy in there. Hywel (Bass) came into the studio to find us practically dancing around waving EMF readers around the place looking for a ghost! It kinda felt like some of what we wrote about was actually happening haha. We all saw flashes of the light in random places and often kept jumping and saying we saw someone in the corner :/
6.When can be expect to see you playing some live gigs ?
ASD will be back on the gigging front in Llanelli in October for definite however we are hoping for a gig here a little sooner
