For the Love Of… the Llanelli coast
Our Local Llanelli AM, Keith Davies has supported For the Love Of, the newly launched campaign by Stop Climate Change Cymru. Proclaiming his love for our local area and as a local resident, Keith Davies has shown his support for action on climate change.
The campaign highlights the threat of climate change over what we hold dear and the need for action. Stop Climate Chaos Cymru is a coalition whose members include Oxfam Cymru, Unison, National Union of Students, Friends of the Earth Cymru, RSPB Cymru, Sustrans Cymru, WWF Cymru, Cafod, Christian Aid Wales, National Federation of Women’s Institutes Wales.
Keith Davies AM said:
“Climate change is a big issue, we might not realise how it will really affect the things we take for granted and the things we love.”
“For me, it’s Llanelli, our wonderful coastline andour coastal heritage. The series of winter storms has had a significant and dramatic effect on our coastline. Our beaches and sand dunes have been under attack from wind and sea. With rising global temperatures and rising sea levels our coastal communities in particular, are under threat and action must be taken to protect them.”
“I was pleased to join the Stop Climate Change Chaos Cymru at their campaign launch, and I encourage all across Llanelli, Wales and wider afield to do the same.”
Haf Elgar, Chair of Stop Climate Chaos Cymru, said:
“It’s great that Keith Davies AM has publicly backed our campaign to stand up and demand action on climate change. As individuals, communities and organisations we all love different things, and we need to work together to both celebrate and protect things that are threatened by climate change.”
“We call on the people of Wales to stand up for what they love and add their voice to the campaign. For the love of Wales – let’s act on climate change”
