Keith Davies, the Assembly Member for Llanelli has written to Alun Davies, the Welsh Assembly Government’s Minister for Natural Resources and Food to express his concern about the price dairy farmers in the Gwendraeth Valley are getting for their milk.
Keith Davies said, “I am worried that the large dairy companies are playing fast and loose with the prices that they are paying dairy farmers in the Gwendraeth Valley for their milk.
“I want justice and fairness for our dairy farmers. I am glad that the Farmers’ Union for Wales – the FUW – have brought this to our attention.
“On behalf of the dairy farmers in my constituency, I have asked the Minister to seek assurances that dairy farmers receive a fair tariff for the raw milk they produce.”
