Unpaid carers living in Neath Port Talbot are being invited to attend an informal coffee morning to have their say and find out more about the support available to them.
The ‘Carers Coffee Morning’is being held in Baglan Community Centre (Hawthorn Avenue, Port Talbot, SA12 8PG) on Monday 29th July between 10:00am and 12:00pm.
Neath Port Talbot Council is arranging the morning to give carers the opportunity to have their say on what is important to them, and to find out what the council and its partner agencies are doing to support them.
Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss their issues withthe council’s senior officers and the Cabinet Member for Adult Social Services and Health and Carers Champion, Councillor Peter Richards. Catherine Vaughan, manager of the Western Bay Integrated Autism Service, will also be attending to deliver a presentation on the supporther service offers to adults with autism and the parents/carers of children and adults with autism.
Councillor Peter Richards said:
“Unpaid carers have an invaluable role in supporting our local communities.
“It is important that the needs of carers are not only recognised but acted upon so that the Council and its partners can support carers to maintain their vital role.”
“I would encourage anyone who cares for a friend or family member to come along to the coffee morning.”
No booking is required and it is free to attend.

Mae gofalwyr di-dâl yng Nghastell-nedd Port Talbot yn cael eu gwahodd i ddod i fore coffi anffurfiol i gael dweud eu dweud a dysgu mwy am y gefnogaeth sydd ar gael iddynt.
Cynhelir y ‘Bore Coffi i Ofalwyr’ yng Nghanolfan Gymunedol Baglan (Rhodfa’r Ddraenen Wen, Port Talbot SA12 8PG) ddydd Llun, 29 Gorffennaf rhwng 10.00am a 12.00pm.
Mae Castell-nedd Port Talbot yn trefnu’r bore i roi cyfle i ofalwyr ddweud eu dweud am yr hyn sy’n bwysig iddynt, ac i ddarganfod yr hyn y mae’r cyngor a’i asiantaethau partner yn ei wneud i’w cefnogi.
Bydd gan y sawl sy’n dod i’r digwyddiad gyfle i drafod ag uwch-swyddogion y cyngor ac Aelod y Cabinet dros Wasanaethau Cymdeithasol i Oedolion ac Iechyd aHyrwyddwr Gofalwyr, y Cynghorydd Peter Richards. Bydd Catherine Vaughan, rheolwr Gwasanaeth Awtistiaeth Integredig Bae’r Gorllewin, hefyd yn rhoi cyflwyniad ar y gefnogaeth y mae’r gwasanaeth yn ei chynnig i oedolion awtistig a rhieni/gofalwyr plant, pobl ifanc ac oedolion awtistig.
Meddai’r Cynghorydd Peter Richards,

“Mae’n bwysig bod anghenion gofalwyr yn cael eu cydnabod ac yr eir i’r afael â nhw fel bod y cyngor a’i bartneriaid yn gallu cefnogi gofalwyr i gynnal eu rôl hanfodol.”
“Byddwn yn annog unrhyw un sy’n gofalu am ffrind neu aelod o’r teulu i ddod i’r bore coffi.”
