LLANGENNECH CP School could be getting 20mph outside its gates in 2015.
Carmarthenshire council’s transport managers are starting the statutory process to introduce the traffic order to set the speed limit.
County executive board member for leisure services Cllr Colin Evans the school community, nearby residents and local members had been calling for the speed restriction measures there.
Once the order is brought into lawful effect if there are no objections upheld the necessary signage will be erected to allow the 20mph limit to be enforced.
County traffic and parking manager John McEvoy said the authority was delivering substantial safety measurers through the county’s many safe routes to school programmes and introducing speed restrictions and other safety measurers outside most of the county’s 119 schools that served 27,000 children.
