CARMARTHENSHIRE County Council is showing its support for Armed Forces Day by flying the flags at main council buildings.

Armed Forces Day is on Saturday, June 28, and is held to raise awareness of the contribution made by those who serve and have served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces.

It also aims to give nation an opportunity to show support for the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets.

The National Event will be held in Stirling, but many more events will be held up and down the country in support of Armed Forces Day.

Armed Forces Champion Cllr Kevin Madge said: “We are proud to fly the flags to show our support for Armed Forces Day.

“Service personnel, past and present, deserve our thanks and gratitude for the jobs they do for us and our country.”
