Bill Kelly, Network Rail’s route director for Wales and the Borders, commented:

“Smaller and rural stations are just as important as larger stations. For the communities they serve, they often act as a vital link for local residents to access the services and leisure opportunities that nearby towns offer. They can often act as an important link to allow visiting tourists to reach more rural parts of Wales and the many rural businesses that benefit from the tourism industry.

“I would like to thank all those who use the Ty Gwyn station for their patience and understanding while we carried out this work. As work comes to an end, the station looks more attractive and much improved to meet the needs of passengers.”
