Over the last four years, there have been many discussions over the possibilities of Rey’s identity. Is she a Skywalker? is she a Kenobi? Is she a Palpatine? Or is she someone or something else entirely?

The only thing that we can agree on for certain is that she’s extremely Force-sensitive and she has a connection to Luke’s/Anakin’s lightsaber. And this is where my theory comes into play.

I firmly believe that Rey is a clone! Think back to Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back. When Darth Vader cuts off Luke’s hand in the cloud city, Somebody must have found it and given it to Palpatine, Maybe out of orders or someone was just trying to make some cash, I don’t know. But it seems to me, this is the only logical reason because otherwise how would Luke’s Lightsaber have ended up being moved to Maz Kanata’s room below her cantina in The Force Awakens? Like I said. Somebody must have found it, thus finding, the hand.

As for Rey’s DNA base template, your guess is as good as mine. Maybe Palpatine had a loved one who he wanted to bring back from the dead and mixed her DNA with the DNA from Lukes severed hand? But if you think back to The Last Jedi when Rey was looking into the Darkside mirror or whatever you want to call it, maybe those images we saw was a long line of Ray’s clones. It could be possible because there was a slight delay with each movement along from one Rey to the next. A normal mirror would be completely in sync.

Maybe J. J. Abrams or the writers have taken inspiration from the Force Unleashed games in some manner or whatever, but Rey turning out to be a clone is right now the only possible conclusion that makes complete and total sense to me. It could also be one of two reasons why we saw Rey looking like she’s turned to the Dark Side in the newest trailer for Rise of Skywalker. Otherwise, maybe the second reason is that she’s been shown a possible future like when Luke saw his face in Darth Vader!

If you want to leave a comment and let us know what you think please feel free to do so but please remember that this is all just total speculation and not to be taken seriously.
