Zimmer Biomet bring children’s garden to life

Community-minded staff from Zimmer Biomet in Bridgend have committed a week of their time to bringing the garden at Bracka Meadows Family Centre back to life for the children and young people that use the Action for Children family support services.

Zimmer Biomet is a global leader in musculoskeletal healthcare. They design, manufacture and market orthopedic reconstructive products; sports medicine, biologics, extremities and trauma products; office-based technologies; spine, craniomaxillofacial and thoracic products; dental implants; and related surgical products.

Jenny Eagle, from Zimmer Biomet, drove the initiative and said: ‘Zimmer Biomet Bridgend first began working with Action for Children last year during a Christmas toy appeal and shortly after chose them as our charity of the year. The charity do such an amazing work! At Zimmer Biomet across the globe, giving back to our local communities and to people in need is part of our guiding principles, and we were honoured to be able to help out in renovating the garden. Hopefully it provides a source of fun and sanctuary for the children, carers and parents.’

Alison Meredith, Action for Children’s Parenting Monitoring and Development Co-ordinator at the Brackla centre, added: ‘We’re so grateful to Zimmer Biomet for their tremendous effort in transforming our outdoor area. It will make a huge difference to the garden and the children will absolutely love it. We held a garden party to celebrate our new garden with parents, children and staff and were delighted the team returned for a piece of cake and a chance for everyone to say thank you to Zimmer Biomet
