Bethel Chapel Pembrey Holds Concert For Tenovous Cancer Charity

On Friday 11th October, Pembrey & Burry Port Friends of Tenovous Cancer Care held a Pink Celebration Concert at Bethel Chapel Pembrey to raise money for the charity, they had a raffle which was drawn on 3rd October, the event include performances from Glan-Y-Mor School choir, Burry Port Town Band, Sing with us Carmarthen and Llanelli choirs and Elaine Gilmore.

The running order was as follows.

There was special thanks on the night to the following, Rev, Ian Sims (Bethel), Cllr Peter Freeman, and to all the performers, also a thank you to the audience for the support, all donations will help support people suffering and affected by cancer in the community.

There were some stories told by the performers, by people who had lost loved ones, also have loved ones suffering, Glan-Y-Mor school music teacher Mr Wisby revealed on the night that tickets were about to go on sale Monday October 14th We Will Rock You which will be performed at Burry Port Memorial Hall in February 2020. There was also a special announcement from Cllr Peter Freeman who revealed Burry Port Town Band who won first place at the West Wales Brass Band Association concert in Cross Hands, also Ceri John who won best Conductor well done to them.

Sing with Us Llanelli is one of 16 Sing with Us choirs run by Tenovus Cancer Care, who meet every Tuesday in Llanelli Library, 6.30-8pm.  We’re a fun, friendly choir who are there to provide a support network for cancer patients, survivors and their families and loved ones and we’re always looking for new members to join our ranks – the more the merrier!  We also believe that every voice counts, so all people are welcome.
