The campaign for a world-first climate and nature debate between party leaders is building momentum.

Over 160,000 of you have signed our petition, thousands of emails have been sent to broadcasters to ask them to host the debate, and together we’ve already convinced four of the major party leaders to come onboard.

But there’s one leader noticeably absent from that list – the Prime Minister.

With a short election period, we don’t have much time left to get him to budge. That’s why we need you to demand he takes part in the debate.

(If you’re not on Twitter, stay tuned for more actions early next week)

This week the PM dodged the question when asked by LBC if he would join debate. That’s just not good enough. The next government will have the chance to define our future, locking us into climate breakdown or allowing us to build a better world, for us and the planet. We need to know that whoever is going to lead it is going to make climate an absolute priority, and that has to include Boris Johnson.

The PM wants to keep ignoring this if he can. If he knows we’re still on his case to join other party leaders then that’s going to be much harder to do.

We can’t do this without you.
