Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, has launched its annual Christmas Give a Gift Appeal. The Give a Gift Appeal aims to brighten the lives of children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

The Give a Gift Appeal encourages our local communities to purchase a gift from a selection of items which have been carefully chosen by our clinical teams that will be of benefit to the children and young people that we care for at home, in hospital and in the community.

The gifts chosen for our Give a Gift Appeal include items such as LED wheel lights to brighten up a wheelchair and really make it stand-out; salt lamps which encourage relaxation and good sleep as well as colouring books which will provide distraction and relaxation during hospital visits and treatment.

Dr Kathryn Lewis, Consultant Paediatrician, Hywel Dda University Health Board said:

“We are delighted to have been chosen to be a part of the Give a Gift Appeal for 2019. Our aim is to create positive memories for the child, young person and their family and improve their quality of life and experiences. We as a team are always looking for ways to enhance the shortened lives of the children and young people that we care for and we would like to thank everyone in advance for their tremendous support and generosity.”

Dawn Thomas, Paediatric Palliative Care Play Specialist, Hywel Dda University Health Board added:

“We have chosen special items for the Give a Gift Appeal that we know the children and young people will really enjoy. These gifts will amuse and delight our children and young people and will bring comfort, fun and positivity as well as create positive memories for the whole family.

Supporting the Give a Gift Appeal is the perfect opportunity to bring a smile to the incredibly brave children and young people that we care for. We are very fortunate to work with our children, young people and their families and will be truly grateful for every gift received.”

Apêl Nadolig Anfonwch Anrheg

Mae Elusennau Iechyd Hywel Dda, elusen swyddogol Bwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Hywel Dda, wedi lansio eu apêl blynyddol Anfonwch Anrheg. Nod Apêl Anfonwch Anrheg yw goleuo bywydau plant a phobl ifanc sydd â chyflyrau sy’n cyfyngu a pheryglu bywyd ledled Sir Gaerfyrddin, Ceredigion a Sir Benfro.

Mae Apêl Anfonwch Anrheg yn annog ein cymunedau lleol i brynu anrheg o ddetholiad o eitemau sydd wedi’u dewis yn ofalus gan ein timau clinigol a fydd o fudd i’r plant a’r bobl ifanc yr ydym yn gofalu amdanynt gartref, yn yr ysbyty ac yn y gymuned.

Mae’r anrhegion a ddewiswyd ar gyfer ein Apêl Anfonwch Anrheg yn cynnwys eitemau fel goleuadau olwyn LED i fywiogi cadair olwyn a’i gwneud i wirioneddol sefyll allan; lampau halen sy’n annog ymlacio a chysgu da yn ogystal â llyfrau lliwio a fydd yn tynnu sylw ac ymlacio plant a phobl ifanc yn ystod ymweliadau a thriniaeth ysbyty.

“Rydyn ni’n falch iawn ein bod ni wedi cael ein dewis i fod yn rhan o Apêl Anfonwch Anrheg ar gyfer 2019. Ein nod yw creu atgofion cadarnhaol i’r plentyn, y person ifanc a’i deulu, a gwella ansawdd eu bywyd a’u profiadau. Rydyn ni fel tîm bob amser yn chwilio am ffyrdd i wella ansawdd bywydau byr y plant a’r bobl ifanc rydyn ni’n gofalu amdanyn nhw a hoffem ddiolch i bawb o flaen llaw am eu cefnogaeth a’u haelioni”

Ychwanegodd Dawn Thomas, Arbenigwr Chwarae Gofal Lliniarol Pediatreg, Bwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Hywel Dda:

“Rydyn ni wedi dewis eitemau arbennig ar gyfer Apêl Anfonwch Anrheg yr ydym ni’n gwybod y bydd y plant a’r bobl ifanc yn eu mwynhau yn fawr. Bydd yr anrhegion hyn yn difyrru ac yn swyno ein plant a’n pobl ifanc a byddant yn dod â chysur, hwyl a phositifrwydd yn ogystal â chreu atgofion cadarnhaol i’r teulu cyfan.

Mae cefnogi Apêl Anfonwch Anrheg yn gyfle perffaith i ddod â gwên i’r plant a’r bobl ifanc hynod o ddewr yr ydym yn gofalu amdanynt. Rydym yn ffodus iawn i weithio gyda’n plant, pobl ifanc a’u teuluoedd a byddwn yn wirioneddol ddiolchgar am bob rhodd a gawn. ”
