Neath Port Talbot Council’s employment and training service for adults with disabilities is set to host a Christmas Fayre this Friday (22nd November).

Bspoked service users

The Neath Abbey based service, known as Bspoked Enterprises, is inviting members of the public to come and view the handcrafted Christmas gifts created by people who attend the service.

The fayre will also include a number of local craft makers, a raffle, a local school choir singing Christmas carols, homemade cakes and confectionery, turkey rolls and other festive foods; plus there will be promotional stalls to provide information to parents and carers.

Bspoked Enterprises aims to give adults with disabilities the opportunity to build confidence, develop employment skills and become more independent. Everyone who attends the service is given the opportunity to learn about the whole process of marketing a product, including designing, manufacturing and selling.

All of the products are made using repurposed materials such as glass, wood, bike parts and fabrics. The finished products are then sold as household items and personalised gifts such as clocks, ornaments, garden furniture, photo frames and lots more.

Angela Thomas, Head of Adult of Service, said:

“The Christmas Fayre is a great opportunity to highlight the hard work and dedication that everyone has put in to making these products throughout the year. It is clear from the quality of what is made at Bspoked Enterprises that everyone who attends the service has a lot of ambition and ability.

“Giving people with disabilities the opportunity to develop their skills and gain confidence is essential to them reaching their full potential and becoming more independent.”

The fayre is open to the public between 10am and 3pm on Friday 22nd November 2019 at Bspoked Enterprises, Monastery Road, Neath Abbey, Neath, SA10 7DR.
