AN end of season Keep Wales Tidy litter pick has been organised on the Blue Flag Cefn Sidan’s beach on September 19th between 10-12pm.

Anyone who has some spare time is invited to turn up and join a gang of willing volunteers.

Bags, gloves and equipment will be supplied and you never know what will be discovered.

Carmarthenshire council’s coastal and parks manager Rory Dickinson said the Dan Snaith’s Keep Wales Tidy team perform invaluable work through the seasons each year on Carmarthenshire beaches.

He said: “The problem is not the day to day litter that is left because in the main out Cefn Sidan and beach users elsewhere in the county take their litter away or dispose of it appropriately.

“But with a reputation of being the dustbin of the Atlantic anything can be washed ashore on the twice daily tides from cartons of suntan oil to trees with coconuts still attached.

“So it can be quite a fun occasion. All are welcome.”
