Supported by Carmarthenshireās Communities First, a business enterprise course is giving local residents lessons in setting up a business, from market research and financial modeling to learning how to pitch a business to an investor.
During the course students will aim to develop an entrepreneurial mindset as well as gaining the focus and know-how to guide them through the types of decisions that successful business people make every day.
On completion of the level two OCR course, candidates will achieve a high quality, industry recognized award. It is a vocationally-related qualification that provides valuable opportunities for individuals to develop skills and gain underpinning knowledge and understanding which will support them in the setting up of a business.
Communities First Family Learning Worker, Rhian Richards, said:ā We provide support and encouragement to those people who have ambition, imagination and drive to start their own businesses.ā
Communities First is a community focused programme that supports the Welsh Government’s tackling poverty agenda. The programme supports the most disadvantaged people in the most deprived areas with the aim of alleviating persistent poverty.
The course is suitable for those who have a business idea that they would like to put into practice and develop skills to make it a success.
