We’ve waited for Disney Plus to come to the UK for months now, and frankly, consumers of streaming services haven’t appreciated it considering that it was released in the US so many months beforehand. Personally, the wait doesn’t bother me cause this means we finally get to enjoy all the new TV shows that Disney has inline to offer such the new Star Wars and MCU series list.
Confirmed for MCU Phase 4 Disney Plus Series
Besides viewing the MCU on the big-screen – Disney Plus will be viewing stage 4 on its very own streaming service and will be releasing MCU TV shows for the foreseeable years starting in the Fall this year of 2020.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. (Fall 2020)
New from Marvel Studios’ stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER along with Daniel Brühl will air on Disney+, Fall 2020. The first Marvel Phase 4 series to hit Disney+ Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, takes on the mantel of Captain America after predecessor Steve Trevor handed the famous shield to him in the MCU finale Avengers: Endgame. With Bucky Barns, played by Sebastian Stan, they form up together a new crime-fighting team. Baron Zemo, played by Daniel Bruhl returns as for his vengeance as he failed to do so in Captain America: Civil War. It also appears that Sharon Van Camp will also be returning as Sharon Carter.
WandaVision (Spring 2020)
Marvel announces that WandaVision is unlike anything we’ve seen to date and ti’s all being kept on the hush-hush. Currently, there is no news about the project, apart from the fact that Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen will be reprising their roles in the show. Feige added that ”the series will act as a set-up to the next Doctor Strange film”
Loki. (Spring 2021)
Remember that moment in Avengers: Endgame when Loki ran away with the Tesseract? This is where Tom Hiddleston reprises the role of the Norse god of mischief and starts to embark on his own story. This is very exciting for me as I’ve always wanted to see a Loki solo venture. Hiddleston said “A new world. New challenges. And I cannot wait to get started.” As a huge MCU fan, I can’t wait to see how this new show turns out.
What If…? (Summer 2021)
I any of you have ever collected comics then you will know what this show is going to be about. WHAT IF…?, is going to be the first MCU animated TV series, with all the original actors from the MCU movies reprising their roles, not in front of the camera, but with their voices. For those of you who know in the comic books, What If…? is an alternate realities saga with different outcomes for the famed characters that we all know. Such as, What if… the Hulk killed Wolverine? As a taster for you, the opening episode will be asking what if Peggy Carter had taken the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rogers.
Expect your favourite MCU actors, such as Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeff Goldblum, Karren Gillian Natalie Portman, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston and Paul Rudd to be voicing-over in the new project along with many other of the MCU actors along the way.
Hawkeye (Fall 2021)
Have you wondered about what Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) was up to during his “Ronin” phase? We now finally get to find out as we follow him in his time during ”the snap” before Avengers: Endgame. I heat we will witnessing a lead-up to a new Hawkeye after Clint Barton for future MCU projects.
Ms Marvel, She-Hulk and Moon Knight (dates TBA)
It has been confirmed by Marvel that 3 new live-action Disney+ projects for the MCU universe. There will be a new Ms Marvel series which will feature Kamala Khan, the first Muslim hero ever to lead a Marvel comic. The other two announced are to be She-Hulk and Moon Knight. There are as of yet no specific dates for these shows, but I think we’re all in for an exciting few years.
The release foe Disney Plus will be available in the UK & Ireland on March 31, 2020.
Thanks for reading and as a great man once said… Excelsior.
