Burry Port News (we 3rd April 11)

Afternoon Tea

This is at the Burry Port English Methodist Church on Saturday 9 April from 2-4pm.Cakes will be served and there will be a bric-a-brac stall. Entry is free but we would appreciate any donation. The bus stops right outside the church on Glanmor Terrace.  

Rugby Competition

The winners of the Burry Port Male Choir’s Six Nation’s rugby competition were N R Wakefield and G Fox.  

Greyhound Rescue Day

The organisers of the recent first anniversary £1 day for the charity shop in Station Road, Burry Port would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the day by donating, volunteering or buying. All proceeds to help greyhounds.  

Burry Port Opera

Rehearsals start on Wednesday 27 April at 7pm in the Memorial Hall. This years production is Donizetti’s L’elisir D’Amore (The Love Potion).The society is looking for new members. This opera is an amusing lighthearted story ideal for anyone wanting to become involved in singing and stage work. There are no auditions for new members to join the chorus. Folk Club

The next folk club meeting will be on Monday April 11 at 7.30pm.The venue is the Coasting Pilot, Bridge Street. This is an “open mic” acoustic night and we invite singers, instrumentalists, poetry readings, stories etc. and also those who wish to sit back and enjoy. A PA system is available for use.
