On Friday 7th November, Changing Faces, Llanellitown.com’s project to aid the end of mental health stigma will give a premier to their film which is also called Changing Faces.
Changing Faces was funded by Time to Change Wales (TCW). TCW work in Wales to try and end the stigma of Mental Health, and as part this, the Llanellitown.com team interviewed people who are or were suffering and asked them to talk frankly about their experiences.
Jonathan Williams, MD of Llanellitown.com said:
“We interviewed and filmed people with mental health problems to show how they have been coping with their problems whilst working/training and raising a family.”
“All too often, people with mental health problems face stigma.”
“We want to show that they can achieve many things without their lives being written off and can be successful.”
“We also wanted to create a film that will encourage people with mental health problems to come forward and speak about their problems in order to encourage others to do the same.”
The event takes place from 9.30 and finishes around 1pm. It is being held in The Antioch Centre, Copperworks Rd, Llanelli.
Also on the bill is local Musician and Mental Health Champion Dai Sharkey. He will be playing a few tunes to entertain the audience.
