What larks!

This half-term at the National Botanic Garden of Wales is all about the birds.

Visitors will be able to take part in a wide variety of activities for all ages, from making bird feeders, to birdsong identification, tips on feeding the birds in your garden, birdwatching walks and talks, as well as birdy arts and crafts.

And there will be ‘Plant a Sunflower Seed for the Birds’ sessions which will give everyone the chance to take home what they’ve planted and watch it grow.

For more extreme bird encounters, you can visit the British Bird of Prey Centre where there will be flying displays every day – at 11.30, 1pm and 2.30 – with owls, kites and kestrels to the fore.

For an altogether gentler pursuit, you can pick up a bag of our Duck’s Delight seed mix so you can feed the ducks on our necklace of lakes.

And for three days of fun-packed interactive learning and play, why not sign up for our Garden Explorers’ Activity Club. Perfect for 8-to-12 year-olds, it runs on February 17, 18 and 19 from 8am to 5pm and is £25 per day. For details, call 01558 667150.

Admission to the Garden is £10.45 for adults and £5 for children, a family ticket (for 2 adults and up to 4 children) is £30.

Remember to keep hold of your receipt because you can use it to get in free of charge as many times as you like within seven days

The Garden is open from 10am-4pm, with last entry at 3.30pm.
