“It’s not often you get clubs as big and high profile as this in our neck of the woods, so we just hope everyone takes the opportunity to enjoy a family sporting night out!

“It will be such a memorable night for the club, its supporters, Wales football supporters and sports followers alike.”

Jon Daniels, Operations Director at the Scarlets said: “This is a big summer occasion for us at Parc y Scarlets and we will be doing all we can to ensure that supporters and Manchester United as our visitors have a great experience here. We have all the facilities required by a world-class club and experience of top-flight sports fixtures to draw on.

“We are also gearing up for our first-ever music event of the summer too – with The Saturdays in concert here at Parc y Scarlets on May 21st – these are two showcase events for us in the non-rugby arena and we’re looking forward to welcoming thousands of new guests to the home of heart and soul rugby country, Parc y Scarlets.”

Parc y Scarlets has been successful in hosting a number of international class rugby and football fixtures and recently won plaudits as the host ground for Wales U20 Six Nations international campaign – with two games against England and Ireland being hosted at the Scarlets’ home ground.

It has also already hosted two international Wales senior football international fixtures for FAW with Wales playing Estonia (May 2009) and Luxembourg (August 2010) as well as UEFA U21 qualifiers and two Welsh Cup Finals.

The fixture has been landed by The Reds thanks to the contacts of its manager, Andy Legg and the size and scope of the facilities at Parc y Scarlets will enable Llanelli AFC to maximise the return on this high-profile game.
