From snowdrops to stargazing and bushcraft to tree planting, this half-term will see the charity host a range of outdoor activities across Wales to inspire and connect more people with nature

Snowdrop planting at Bodnant Garden

17-20 February, 11am-1pm

The gardeners will be on hand to show you where and how to plant your snowdrop – plant one or a hundred, stay for five minutes or an hour.

Sleepy trail at Dyffryn Gardens

1-20 February, 10am-4pm

Discover what’s sleeping and what’s waking up around Dyffryn Gardens with the Sleepy Trail.

Snowdrop weekends at Plas yn Rhiw

8 and 9 February, 11am-3pm

See the garden and woods carpeted with snowdrops this February.

£3 per adult, £1 per child.

Snowdrop walk with the Head Gardener at Chirk Castle

14 and 28 February, 1pm-2.30pm

See some of the highlights of the beautiful snowdrop show at Chirk, find out more about these beautiful flowers that herald the coming of spring and how the garden team look after them.

Dark Skies Festival at Penrhyn Castle

20-23 February

The Trust has teamed up with Snowdonia National Park to celebrate Snowdonia’s status as an International Dark Skies Reserve with four days of fun dark skies events and activities for all ages.

Mud, glorious mud week at Plas Newydd

17-21 February, 12pm-3pm

Make some mucky creations in the mud kitchen, create some messy artwork or slip and slide down the water slide – all with added mud of course!

Wolf’s Den natural play reopens at Erddig

From 15 February, 11am-4pm

Enter through the walled garden to balance on beams, build dens and fly on a rope swing!

Garden nature trail at Powis Castle

15-23 February, 10am-4pm

Wrap up warm, pull on your wellies and let off some steam as you explore acres of space with Powis Castle’s garden nature trail.

Make a home for wildlife at Tredegar House

17 and 18 February, 11am-3pm

Tick off one of your 50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾ activities by creating a birdhouse for our feathered friends.

Help a plant grow at Tredegar House

20 and 21 February, 11am-3pm

Join the team in the Riding School to plant leek seeds and take yours home to watch it grow.

Tree planting at Stackpole

22 February, 10am-3pm

Help plant 1,250 new trees at Castle Dock, near Stackpole, as part of the team’s latest campaign to plant 12,500 new trees across Pembrokeshire in 2020.

Plant plots at Llanerchaeron

21 February, 1pm-3pm

Join the gardener to help design this year’s pocket sized plots. Some of your ideas will be turned into reality in our real sized plots in the garden.

Feathered friends at Dinefwr

17-21 February, 11am-3pm

This February half-term get to know the feathered friends on the Dinefwr estate. Activities include making birdfeeders, birdhouses and visiting the bird hide.

Bushcraft basics at Colby Woodland Garden

18-20 February, 10.30am-2.30pm

Head to the woods for a bushcraft survival session with expert guide, Chris Harvey-Jones. From fire lighting to den building, there’s lots to learn if you want to be an outdoor explorer!

Walk to the Worm, Rhosili

23 February, 9.30am-2.30pm

Go on a walk with National Trust rangers to discover the wonders of Worm’s Head, the tidal island at the far end of Rhosili.
