Alun Griffiths Construction is looking to recruit two apprentices in 2015 as part of the company’s plans.
A series of events have been delivered on site in Cross Hands by Carmarthenshire County Council council’s Business Team.
The team has run an engineering and ecology day and a plant machinery day. The aim is to engage with local people and for young people to understand the key skills that are needed to work within the construction sector.
On the day, two presentations were given from a graduate and apprentice’s perspective. Each student will submit their CV to the company in December this year with the aim being to provide experience in early spring 2015.
The project has been funded by Carmarthenshire County Council, the European Regional Development Fund and the Western Valleys and Transport Grant through the Welsh Government.
