Craft fair is fabulous showcase

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the Great Glasshouse at the National Botanic Garden of Wales.

The specially-decorated schools’ Christmas trees are on display and – on Saturday and Sunday December 13-14 – they will be joined by local craftsmen and women for our annual Christmas Craft Fair.

It might just be the perfect place to find that special gift for your difficult-to-buy-for loved ones and family members.

The weekend event promises a rich array of festive fare – from stocking fillers to The Big Present – all hand-crafted by local folk. It looks like the A-to-Z of gorgeous gifts: there are wreaths and Welsh wool products, jewellery and objets d’art, lovespoons and lampwork, bird-boxes and beehive craft, porcelain flowers and personalised jewellery as well as button bears and bumbly bears and much more besides.

Craft fair organiser, Linsey Perry said: “The event is a fabulous showcase for local talent in terms of crafts and skills and the range of gifts on offer is always jaw-droppingly irresistible.”

There is also festive music in the Great Glasshouse provided by choirs and groups over the weekend

The Christmas Craft Fair is on from 10am until 4pm both days.

And, don’t forget: the Garden’s Santa Spectacular is taking place this weekend, too, with daily shows at 11.30am, 12.15pm, 1.45pm and 2.30pm.
