SCORES of people have been given advice on how to stop receiving junk mail through the post at three road shows which have been held in the county.

Officers from Carmarthenshire County Council’s recycling team held the events in Morrisons Carmarthen, Co-op Cross Hands and the Elli Centre in Llanelli as part of the European Week for Waste Reduction.

Those attending were given information on how to reduce the unwanted mail they received and also to register with the Mail Preference Service (MPS) http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/mpsr/

Carmarthenshire County Council’s executive board member for Technical Services, Cllr Colin Evans, said: “Receiving junk mail can be annoying but staff have been on-hand to help and give information to people on how to stop receiving this unwanted mail.”

If you were unable to attend the road shows the information will also be available at the council’s Customer Service desks in the county or at www.recycleforcarmarthenshire.com
