A river footbridge in the Neath Valley has been closed for safety reasons.
Structural damage to the Blaengwrach River Bridge caused by successive winter storms is thought to be behind alarming crack and partial collapse of the central pier of the bridge.
The bridge was closed late on Tuesday, March 31st and council officials met with contractors the following day to ensure safety barriers were reinforced to prevent public access.
A structural assessment was carried out and concluded that the bridge cannot be repaired or reopened for the foreseeable future.
