As the title may have led you to believe, I did not like Star Trek Into Darkness. And while the following is not a complete list of my grievences with the film, they are my top ten:

1 – Cold fusion doesn’t work like that.

2 – Volcanoes don’t work like that.

2a – While not a geologist, I am certain freezing a volcano would make things worse for the people you’re apparently trying to save.

3 – If you need to hide a spaceship from a race of alien cave people surely the best place to hide, would be in space… Not the scenic ocean next to the alien cave people’s village.

4 – Klingons.

6 – Female characters being reduced to nagging eye candy.

7 – Non-Indian Khan.

8 – Chekhov’s tribble.

9 – Spock’s “KHAAAAAAAN!” was worse than emo Vader’s “NNOOOOOOOO!”.

10 – Why did they need Khan’s blood specifically when they had 72 other genetically engineered psychopaths in the sickbay freezer?

All this being said, while I think Into darkness was a bad Star Trek film it was a decent sci-fi film.

What do you think? Did you enjoy Into Darkness? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
