Businesses who are recruiting key workers are being urged to contact Neath Port Talbot Council’s Work Station service.
The service can help businesses that are still operating in the current circumstances to recruit people who are out of work into essential key worker roles.
Since the coronavirus outbreak, the service has received contact from more than 350 local people who are actively looking for work.
The service can work closely with businesses to find out what skills are required to carry out the role, and then shortlist suitable candidates to be interviewed. In particular, those businesses in essential sectors such as social care, food and transport that are having to recruit more staff to cope with the demand caused by the coronavirus.
The Council’s Work Station is made up of a number of employment support agencies such as Workways+, Communities 4 Work and PACE. It is a ‘one stop shop’ for people who require support with careers advice, training and job opportunities.
For more information, contact the Work Station on (01639) 684250 or email, workstation@npt.gov.uk. Alternatively, visit their Facebook page, @workstationpt.
