There is a desperate need for more personal protective equipment for frontline council and care services across the country

The Local Government Association – which represents councils in England and Wales – said local authorities are increasingly having to ration PPE to social care staff and care providers amid inadequate deliveries.

It is calling for the Government to ensure they receive consistent and reliable supplies of PPE to protect care workers and those that they care for.
