So just who are the ‘Men in White Coats’?

Men in White Coats (MIWC)  are a 4 piece rock band consisting of Gareth J. Mills (Lead vocals and guitar), Kieran Rees (Lead guitar and backing vocals), Aled Rees (Bass guitar and backing vocals) and Sam James (Drums).

The band describe themselves as one of South Wales’ most spread out bands with two band members hailing  from Caerphilly, one from Risca and the other from Port Talbot.

MIWC  say they formed in late 2012 and played their first live gig in The Monte, Rudry in March 2013

The band say they play a very eclectic set and style of music. Predominately focusing on lively, uptempo numbers and a few unusual covers of songs that  they say you would not expect from a rock band. They say they try not to play all the obvious hits from the artists that they cover. Men in White Coats quote their influences as The Police, Stereophonics, Ramones, Manic Street Preachers, Oasis, The Fratellis, The Clash and The Killers to name but a few.

In 2015 the band say they plan to play a few festivals and VW shows but they are also looking to broaden their song database with new influences. They are looking to play further afield  and plan to play some gigs on non UK soil at the end of the year.
