Labour choose Hengoed candidates

Following the Selection Meeting on the 17th January, 2015 for the Hengoed By-Election, the Llanelli Constituency Labour Party has announced that Penny Edwards, wife of the late Councillor George Edwards, has been selected to stand for the County Council seat and Tonia Antoniazzi, a Secondary School teacher has been selected to stand for the Rural Council seat.

Penny Edwards said:

‘I am very pleased to to stand as a Labour County Councillor for the Hengoed Ward and hope to continue the legacy of my late husband, George.’

On being selected, Toni Antoniazzi commented:

‘I am delighted to have been selected to stand as a Labour Rural Council candidate for a ward in which I have grown up and know very well.’

The selection panel felt that this to be a very strong team to go forward together to get elected for the Labour Party.
