Three police officers were assaulted while arresting a Whitland woman wanted for failing to appear at court.

The Dyfed-Powys Police PCs were at the Bryngwenllian home of Kayleigh Prosser, who had been issued with a warrant after failing to appear at court charged with threats to damage or destroy property.

On her arrest, the 33-year-old became aggressive, biting, striking and kicking out at the officers.

Inspector Kerry Scoberg said: “One PC was kicked to the genitals, was scratched on his arm and was bitten, another suffered a cut finger and was also bitten, and the third was struck to the arm.

“Thankfully, none of the officers were seriously injured and were able to remain on duty, however that does not excuse the violence and aggression shown towards them.

“We will continue to take action against those who act in this inexcusable manner towards members of the emergency services.”

Prosser was charged with three counts of assaulting an emergency worker, and admitted the offences at court on Saturday, June 20. She will next appear at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (June 24).
