This week, Nestlé announced that they will no longer be sourcing Fairtrade cocoa and sugar for their KitKats.
This will cost farmers in Côte d’Ivoire, Fiji and Malawi almost £2m in Fairtrade premiums per year. That is just one week of KitKat sales in the UK.
As a result, our partners at Fair Trade Wales is backing a petition to the Ulf Mark Schneider, CEO of Nestlé urging him to reverse this decision.
You can also message Nestlé and KitKat on social media and urge them to reverse their decision:

Nid yw KitKit bellach yn fasnach deg
Yr wythnos hon, cyflwynodd Nestlé eu bod nhw ddim yn defnyddio coco a siwgr teg mewn eu KitKats.
Bydd ffermwyr coco yn y Traeth Ifori, a ffermwyr siwgr yn Ffiji a Malawi yn colli £1.95m (oddeutu £2m) mewn premiymau Masnach Deg bob blwyddyn – swm bach i fusnes byd-eang gwerth biliynau o bunnoedd.
O ganlyniad, mae ein partneriaid yng Nghymru Masnach Deg yn cefnogi deiseb i Ulf Mark Schneider, Prif Weithredwr Nestlé, yn ei annog i gildroi’r penderfyniad.
Gallwch hefyd anfon neges at Nestlé a KitKat ar gyfryngau cymdeithasol ac annog nhw i gildroi’r penderfyniad.
