Legion Bank Holiday Entertainment

The Royal British Legion Club presents on Bank Holiday Saturday 28th May a top class duo called Tandem. Entrance members £2 and guests £3.Bingo last books 7.50pm.

On Bank Holiday Monday 30 May there is a coffee/bingo evening and tombola stall. Doors open 7pm. Last bingo books 8.20pm.Entrance members and guests 40p.All proceeds go to Parcels for Troops fund for Afghanistan.  

Pembrey Country Park Events

There will be steam train rides on 29th and 30th May and 4th and 5th June.  Also on the 4th and 5th the Cymric Archers competition takes place with the Carmarthenshire windsport’s club activities on the beach.

Park users please note that the park will be completely closed from 16 to 20 June with much disruption from 11 to 15 and 21 to 24 June due to Beach Break Live.     

Choir Annual Concert

Burry Port Male choir are holding their 48th Annual concert on Saturday 2nd July at 7pm in the Memorial Hall, Parc-y-Minos Street, Burry Port. Guest artistes are the Three Welsh Tenors Rhys Meirion, Aled Hall and Alun Rhys Jenkins and soprano Eirlys Myfanwy Davies. Guest Accompanist is Caradog Williams and the Compere is Rev Eric Davies. Car Boot Sale

These continue, weather permitting every Sunday until the last one in September. £5 per car on the Marina field, Burry Port. Sellers 9am and buyers from 10am onwards.  

Gardening Club

On Monday 6th June the Pembrey and Burry Port Gardening Club are holding their monthly meeting at 7.15pm in the Community Hall, Pembrey. After Tips of the Month Ivor Stokes will speak on Woodland Plants.  Everyone is welcome to come along. Cost £1 at the door to include a raffle ticket and refreshments. The garden club meets on the first Monday of the month excepting Bank Holidays. Why not come and join us for annual fee of only £4. Enquiries to secretary on 01554 833490.  

Trip to Weston-Super-Mare

The Over 60’s Club has organised this trip on Wednesday 29th June leaving at 9.30am with various Burry Port pickups. £11 per person with optional carvery meal in the evening at extra cost. Contact Barbara on 01554 832926  

Burry Port Folk Club

The folk club meets on Monday 6th June at 7.30pm.From now on it will meet on the first and third Mondays of each month. The venue is the Coasting Pilot, Bridge Street. These are “open mic” acoustic nights and we invite singers, instrumentalists, poetry readers, story tellers etc. and also those who wish to sit back and enjoy. A PA system is available for use. Each singer is allowed three songs in the first round and two in the second, time permitting. For more information and to book a slot please contact Graham Davies on 07946 583110.  

Youth Cafe

The Burry Port Christian Forum’s Youth cafe takes a break during half-term week and meets next on Thursday 9th June from 7-9pm.Meetings take place at Ty Mair,the Plant Dewi Centre, Stepney Road. Young people who are 13+years are welcome to an evening of pool, table football, table tennis, computer games, refreshments, games and discussion.
