Coronavirus – We are back for Walks

It has been a long wait to get back to seeing people and exercising. We have been preparing for the new normal where our walks are concerned. Walk leaders have had Covid 19 awareness training as your welfare is paramount, we want you to feel safe walking with us now and in the future.

Walks are limited to those with the least risks right now and hopefully will be more adventurous as time goes on. We are keeping them short as many of us have not had much exercise in the last 6 months especially those who have had to shield. For the time being we will have to stick to the 2m rule or less as it’s introduced, therefore we won’t be concentrating on the wildlife quite so much, as we don’t want to encourage people to gather close together to look at anything. Our physical health is important as is mental health. Sadly some people have had so little interaction with others for so long, so we want to get back out together sooner rather than later. All walks will have been risk assessed recently to make sure we are able to comply with all guidelines required.

To start with we will only allow 8 walkers on each walk, to be reviewed as time goes on. Also walks will have to be booked onto online. ‘Walking Well Carmarthenshire’ have created a new website https://walkingwellcarmarthenshire.org.uk/
You will be able to book on other ‘Walking Well’ groups walks as well if you so wish. We can not allow walkers to join the walks if they have not booked online first.

Walks will be subject to walk leader availability, we don’t know in advance if a walk leader should have to shield etc. Please check for any cancelations before leaving for the walk. We also respectfully ask you to please not turn up for a walk with us if you should have any Covid 19 symptoms or concerns.

Some may think that we are over cautious, or not cautious enough, but one thing for sure is that we can’t wait to get walking with you again. If you have any concerns then please contact us.

The website is now live and bookings can be taken for the first 2 walks. We will only make 2 walks available to book at a time for the time being, so that block bookings can’t be made, this is for all to have a chance of booking a place on a walk.

Praying for no more lockdowns and seeing you soon.
