Commenting on the latest batch of Covid testing data released today (September 23), Shadow Health Minister Andrew RT Davies MS said:

“We have had stagnation in the system for weeks, and where there is stagnation, you need get things flowing properly. That means the Welsh Labour-led Government must react faster and smarter, and become nimbler in its approach.”

Welsh Conservative Mr Davies added:

“Key to this is going to be using the available capacity in the NHS Wales labs, because it’s bonkers to have so much spare capacity in a system sitting unused.

“So, I am calling on the Health Minister to look at this as an immediate priority. We have got to get ahead of the game here and make the system work, because you can’t trace and protect successfully if you’re not testing at capacity.”
