How One Carmarthen Man Escaped The ‘Homeless, To Drugs, To Prison’ Cycle, By Holding Onto A Childhood Dream

Daniel Ramsey, a local Carmarthen man, is on a mission to prove that no matter how
complicated, overwhelming or difficult your business challenges may be, there is always
a way out. And he can talk the talk having walked the walk further than most.

Having run away from home as a young teen, he inevitably fell out of the education
system and into dead-end jobs, paying little and only serving to send him on a path of
self-destruction. That destruction came in the form of selling drugs to make ends meet
and not least, consuming a deadly amount himself.

The story that followed is sadly predictable; with multiple visits to prison, finding
himself homeless and wondering if his life would ever turn out as he had dreamt; Daniel
thought his chance of a happy and successful life, was over and his dream of running his
own business, shattered.

Clinging onto a treasured childhood dream of being a successful entrepreneur, being
well-respected, having a family and being able to make a difference in the world
through coaching others to succeed, Daniel decided that giving up was not an option.
At the age of 32, he picked himself up and took himself to Carmarthen Uni to
study Business and Management which became his first step into changing the course of
his life and now, many others.

“I recognised that my life had been so complicated and so overwhelming and seeing
businesses struggle to get going or sustain any sort of growth, I could see them
mirroring my own mistakes and habits – and so I was determined to set about showing
them how to simplify their business and the benefits of doing so on them as an
individual, their relationships and health,” explains Daniel.

Daniel now coaches’ businesses and individuals to build an online business, to clear out
what is not needed, find simple ways to achieve goals and declutter unwanted processes
that are hindering their growth. Daniel knew that a clear mind, clear desk and clear path
to achieving a goal, was exactly what he needed to break the destructive cycle and that
this was exactly the same for personal or professional lives.
