Llanelli based film company “Purple Sky Productions” have launched a Crowdfunding campaign to finish off their 1940’s feature film “Hearts at War”.

The film set during World War 2 follows the main characters Evelyn and Jimmy, as they embark on a relationship in the uncertain era. Jimmy is conscripted to fight, Evelyn subsequently joins the Women’s Land Army. The film focuses on the relationship of how two people can adjust to being apart and coping with the difficulties they face after the struggles of War.

Filming has taken place over various locations over Carmarthenshire, Swansea and Pembrokeshire with one scene being shot in Truro, Cornwall. Local actors have been involved with the film and now anxiously await seeing the final product.

“We have been shooting for the last year. It originally began as a short film, as we began exploring the idea more, we wanted to build on the story and add more depth and backstory to the characters. We have been very lucky with having some wonderful filming locations and have learnt a lot from local people we have met along the way. Filming is now complete and we are hoping to raise money for post production and marketing on the project”, says spokesperson Lisa Jay Jenkins.

The crowdfunding campaign for Hearts at War is now live on the Kickstarter.com website. To contribute or find out more please visit: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/purplesky/hearts-at-war
