We’ve just found out that over half of the private corporations that have won over £700 million in NHS contracts have close links to the Tories.

And it gets worse. Three of the for-profit companies have track records of poor care, including canceled contracts and devastating findings of poor service by the NHS’ own regulator. But now they’re all set for new contracts at the NHS’ expense.

If we don’t stop this now, our government will continue handing off our crucial public service to its corporate friends, and put our health at grave risk. Already, almost 100,000 of us have spoken up to demand this attack on the NHS stops. But we need to do more.

With the election just around the corner, we need to ramp up our campaign now to expose the government and pile on the pressure to stop the corporate back-scratching. This is the moment when the future of the NHS is decided — but we need your support. Please, can you chip in £1 to stop our NHS being handed off to the government’s dodgy corporate friends?

Yes, I’ll chip in £1 to help campaign to stop the corporate corruption of the NHS.

The contracts already handed out constitute the biggest NHS privatisation deal to date; it involves 11 private corporations and is worth £780 million. And these corporations already have a track record of delivering poor quality care. Circle and Care UK have been pulled up by the English health and safety regulator. Vanguard is being heavily criticised after the 31 eye operations it performed under an NHS contract last year left patients with continuing sight problems.

This is just the beginning. There’s also talk of privatising £700 million worth of cancer care in Staffordshire. That’s £700 million worth of critical treatment that will be contracted out to a profit-driven company that will naturally cut services and reduce the quality of care that could be life-saving. High quality treatment in these cases could be the difference between life and death, and we can’t let irresponsible corporations get ahold of this.

It’s not too late. With the election coming up, this is the best chance we have of the government caving to pressure — and that’s why we need to step up our campaign now.

Hundreds of thousands of SumOfUs members have stood up for the NHS before, stopping corporations from profiting off the health care that families receive. Last year, we stopped weapons company Lockheed Martin from prescribing our medicine and taking over a key NHS contract. And in order to ensure that we and our families get the health care that we need, we need to stop this privatisation from going forward.

Will you chip in £1 to stop profit-driven corporations from destroying our NHS?

Yes, I’ll chip in £1 to help protect the NHS.
