“We welcome Education Minister Kirsty Williams’s decision that there should be no end of year exams for GCSE, AS and A level qualifications in 2021.

“This will take the pressure of both learners and teachers following an extremely disruptive and difficult time. We know that our students have been anxious about their exams having missed so much school, and with ongoing uncertainty regarding the future as the coronavirus is still very much with us.

“We look forward to learning more about this approach and hope to be involved in this process to ensure it is both fair and consistent for our students, and so that we can make sure our teachers have the support and resources they need.”

Cllr Glynog Davies
Executive Board Member for Education and Children’s Services
