Pig producers across Wales are to receive a marketing boost, thanks to an increase in support available from Menter Moch Cymru.
As part of a wealth of business advice and support available to pig enterprises, Menter Moch Cymru is increasing its existing £500 grants to develop branded promotional materials to £750.
The initiative enables producers to adopt a ‘hands-on’ approach and work with an approved design company to develop bespoke promotional materials such as flyers, labels, packaging, digital adverts and graphics.
Melanie Cargill, Menter Moch Cymru Project Manager, said, “Given the current situation created by Covid-19, more than ever producers to need to use as many marketing tools as possible to widen their customer base and draw attention to their products and services. By doing this, they will also raise awareness of the quality and availability of pork from Wales.
“We are living in unprecedented times, and so we feel that this increase in support for producers is not only timely but reflects the growing importance of having a strong brand identity which reflects the quality and provenance of their pork in ways that are attractive to consumers.”
Menter Moch Cymru is funded by the Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.
