Plaid Cymru calls for all economic levers so that no region will be left behind
Ahead of the Welsh Government’s draft budget, due to be released today (Monday 21 December) Rhun ap Iorwerth MS, Plaid Cymru Finance spokesperson, said:
“The block grant allocated to Wales by Westminster is wholly inadequate to meet the unprecedented challenges facing our nation.
“During this pandemic, inequality has shown itself to be widespread in Welsh communities. Urgent action is needed to rebalance our economy, to lift children out of poverty, and to recognise the essential contribution of our frontline workers.
“No region of Wales should be left behind in this endeavour.
“Whilst Labour are content to defend an union which sees us suffer neglect year after year, Plaid Cymru wants Wales to have all the economic levers we need to tailor a recovery with the interests of our communities at its heart.”
