“Renegotiation is not an option. The clock stops ticking at 11pm tomorrow night (31 December). By voting against, Plaid Cymru and Adam Price are essentially voting for the catastrophe a no-deal would bring to communities and businesses in Carmarthenshire.
“This is not the deal we called for nor would Labour would have negotiated.
“But Carmarthenshire voted in favour of leaving the EU; Labour respects that decision. Going forward, we would look to use this deal as a platform on which better arrangements can be negotiated in the future; seeking to cut the additional costs this deal places on businesses and farmers exporting to the continent, cut the additional bureaucracy and red tape being introduced and a deal that does not fall short of what was promised to Carmarthenshire residents during the referendum.”
