Plaid Cymru MS Helen Mary Jones is calling on the Welsh Government to issue students with advice

Plaid Cymru Shadow Minister for Post-16 Education, Helen Mary Jones MS said,

“With schools closed for least another three weeks possibly more, it is completely incomprehensible that Welsh Government is leaving universities to make their own arrangements with regard to the return of students. From Monday on there will be thousands of young people travelling from one area to another. There is no way under these circumstances that this should be being permitted.

“Of course universities are independent body is, but so a further education colleges. The lack of leadership from the minister on this is shameful. It isn’t still not too late for the minister to make it clear that most student should stay where they are, and only students studying courses like nursing and medicine where face-to-face teaching is essential should be returning to university. I am calling on her once again to put this right.”
