Llanelli Train Station Works Set for 2021
This year will see the long awaited regeneration of land adjacent to Llanelli Train Station.
Community Volunteer Group, Friends of Llanelli Train Station have been planning the works for many years and say that everything is now in place for the development to start. Group member and local councillor, Cllr Suzy Curry said “Works were due to start last year, but Covid set us back. I’m excited that we are now in a position to move forward.”
The group met online at the start of January to confirm the timetable for the year. Group founder Nia Griffith MP said “This project will transform an untidy-looking bit of land into a much needed additional public space where people can enjoy the fresh air in pleasant surroundings. “
The plot of land which is currently unused will be opened up to the public and feature seating and a Heritage Board with content created by Llanelli Community Heritage. Works are due to start in March with a completion date set for September.
