Junction 49 are looking for volunteers who would like to be trained up to become Digital Champions. This is all part of J49’s National Lottery Community Funded Digital Inclusion Project.
What is Digital Financial Inclusion?
Digital Financial Inclusion is where we will show people how to save money online. There are several websites, simple tips and ideas that can help people save money or give practical help.
We’ll help people with real life financial problems by showing them solutions, giving simple advice and guidance whilst offering outreach provision to reach those in isolation.
Our Digital Financial Inclusion Projects give people practical advice & training on money saving, showing people how to get online, where to go online, and helping them to sign up & making them more aware of what help is available to them.
About Digital Champions:
Digital Champions are volunteers who, alongside the Digital Inclusion Officer, will help deliver digital training or support project participants. Digital Champions will have excellent levels of IT skills, but they don’t need to be experts or rocket scientists. They need to be able to use computers, tablets and smartphones to search the internet safely, and able to explain technology in simple terms.
Most importantly, they will have an understanding of people’s needs and interest in helping them.
Digital Volunteers will need to be comfortable working with learners delivering basic Digital training such as:
Google Docs
email, Skype, Social media
Smart devices
They will also help provide information, advice & chatting to potential clients (online) to review their circumstances to see what help is required.
Benefits:
Continuous training to allow you to grow in your role and keep learning new things.
Huge satisfaction from helping others.
Meet great people and make new friends.
Expenses when necessary
