Why ‘The Godfather’ is the greatest movie ever made.

You can easily argue that ‘The Godfather’ is the greatest movie ever made in the history of Cinema.

Ask anyone and they’ll say the same thing. If you disagree, then shame on you. When it first appeared in the theatres it became an instant classic, with the subtlety of the Italian language, a history of Italian immigrants in America and the message that family comes first and must always be respected, how can anyone say it’s not up to par?

Yes it’s all about the Mafia, but it’s also a tale about a man who wanted to break the chain and want to avoid getting into the family business. But when you see your father laying in a hospital bed from a near fatal gunshot wound, you really don’t turn your back now, do you?

It’s not personal, it’s just business!

It’s never easy to get out from a shadow as dark as that? The kind of shadow where you’re next in line to become the head of the family business, or as they title it ‘The Don’.

How can anyone really and truly escape that kind of life?  A theme often repeated not only in the Godfather, but in the sequels too.  A philosophy that can really make you end up sleeping with the fishes!

Take my word for it people. With stars such as All Pacino, Robert De Nero and Robert Duval plus Marlon Brando and James Caan you’ll wonder why you never watched this great film in the first place, unless of course you did watch it when it first came along.  If you did, I know you’d love it as much as I do. It really has everything, especially love, loss and family betrayal beautifully presented in such a subtle and inviting way that you can’t help but be drawn in.

If you haven’t seen it give it a try. You won’t be sorry.
