Climbing wall

Aspiring climbers can now scale new heights thanks to a massive new climbing wall being built at Haverfordwest Leisure Centre.

At over ten metres high and 18 metres wide the new wall dwarfs the one it is replacing.

With a 12 metre high main wall, it is suitable for all abilities and competition use and with a surface area of 235 square metres it can accommodate up to 50 climbers.

The wall’s features include an overhanging basalt column with stepped roofs and a competition wall with a 2.5 metre horizontal roof.

It also has a good variety of slabs and overhanging corners.

The wall offers an excellent selection of climbing holds offering as many as 40 climbs including unique copies of real rock which are technically demanding to use.

The wall, which is being constructed by Dream Climbing Walls, is due to open on 18th May and during Whitsun week – the last week in May – there will be free taster sessions.
