With Scarlets’ Guinness PRO12 clash against Newport Gwent Dragons in Judgement Day III fast approaching outside half Rhys Priestland has said it’s a fantastic occasion for Welsh Rugby.

Speaking at the Millennium Stadium earlier this week, as all four Regions came together to preview the big Regional Derby Day, Priestland said he’s looking forward to being a part of the event.

He said: “I think it’s a fantastic occasion; I played last year, having missed out on the first year through injury, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

“Hopefully people will come and watch both games and make a real day of it.

“I personally think it has the potential to be a real special event like the club games they have at Twickenham – it would be ideal for Welsh rugby if they get to that stage.”

The Scarlets and Wales outside half is fully aware of the challenge that faces his Region with Dragons riding the crest of a wave with recent victories over Cardiff Blues and Leinster and a European Semi-Final clash against Edinburgh this weekend.

He went on to say: “Dragons are an improving team. It’s a challenge we’re looking forward to.

“We made hard work of it [the victory over Zebre] ourselves but it was a relief to get that first away win. It would be nice to sign off with three wins now at the end.”

Tickets for Judgement Day are priced at only £10 each and are available here
